Researching the impact of the Heritage Craft Association’s interventions

The Heritage Crafts Association (HCA) is the advocacy body for traditional heritage crafts. Working in partnership with Government and key agencies, it provides a focus for craftspeople, groups, societies and guilds, as well as individuals who care about the loss of traditional crafts skills and works towards a healthy and sustainable framework for the future.

Durnin Research Ltd has been appointed by the Heritage Crafts Association to propose a methodology and engage in pilot work to evaluate the impact of the HCA’s interventions in preserving endangered craft skills.

The research aims to:

  • Better understand what endangered craft skills contribute to society
  • Better understand the difference HCA’s interventions to safeguard endangered crafts make to society
  • Better understand limitations of HCA’s reach so as to better target future work
