Durnin Research Ltd is delighted to have been appointed by Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust to produce an Economic Impact Report.
Established in 1967, Ironbridge Gorge Museums is one of the UK’s largest independent museum Trusts and custodian of some of the nation’s most significant industrial heritage; including Coalbrookdale, which is regarded as one of the most important historic landscapes in the World. Ironbridge Gorge was one of the UK’s first sites to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1986 for its unique role in the development of the Industrial Revolution.
This research will set out the economic contribution made by the Trust to the tourism and arts, culture and heritage economies of Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and the West Midlands, and assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will make evidence-based recommendations on how IGMT can improve its impact on future ‘place making’.
