Evaluating Dippy in Coventry

The Natural History Museum has appointed Durnin Research to Evaluate the economic and geographic engagement impacts of the long-term loan of Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus cast to the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry.

Building on the work Durnin Research did in capturing the economic impacts of Dippy on Tour, this study has been commissioned to:

  • Show impact of the loan across the three year and understand how a long-term loan compares to Dippy on Tour in terms of impact.
  • Show local audience/community impact as well as economic how it has widened diversity of audiences.
  • Inform development of targeted programmes and initiatives each year.
  • Look at what happens/impacts after the loan.
