Leicester Wheels for All are an all inclusive cycling charity covering Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for anyone regardless of age or ability.
Durnin Research Ltd is delighted to support Leicester Wheels for All in evaluating its ‘Keeping the Wheels Turning’ project.
Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the project underpins Leicester Wheels for All’s sustainability for the next 5 years.
Jonathan has enjoyed volunteering for LWFA since January 2024, and developed an evaluation framework, and participant and carer surveys, to support the project.
As well as giving Jonathan a little time each month to support LWFA sessions, Durnin Research is hosting the surveys, and supplying prizes for survey draws that every carer or participant that completes a survey and chooses to enter.
Jonathan was delighted to hand over the first survey prize on Sunday 16th March at a session at Leicester’s Saffron Lane. Julie regularly attends our sessions with her sons, and enjoyed our side by side bike at this session.

The most important finding from the first survey is that those participating are having a great time!

“We love going to the sessions at Saffron Lane, the sense of freedom and the friendly staff are the things that are bringing us back for more:)))”
LWFA participants report a range of wellbeing benefits from LWFA sessions, such as a greater sense of freedom and empowerment (78%), and improved mental wellbeing (70%).
Participants also report a range of health benefits because of coming to LWFA sessions, in particular staying active (74%), and improved physical fitness and strength (52%).
“We attend your event every Wednesday and we truly can’t think of any way that this event can be better. Your team are amazing and support our people and staff with grace, respect and most importantly humour”.
