Instead of Christmas cards, Durnin Research has donated to Thomas’s Fund and SUDC UK

Thomas’s Fund provides music therapy across Northamptonshire (at home, in hospital or as part of continuing care) for children and young people (0-19) with life-limiting illnesses (or life-threatening conditions) and/or a disability which, for medical reasons, means they are too ill to attend school, or an Early Years setting, for extended periods

A highlight of 2022 for me was joining the Thomas’s Fund #TandemLEJOG team for four days on their ambitious charity tandem Lands End to John O’Groats ride. Planned for 2020, it finally happened in June this year, and overcame injury, team changes and an ‘off the beaten track route’. It was a joy to ride with them for part of their journey.

The team smashed their target, raising over £27k for Thomas’s Fund, and even went viral with a little help from @SportsOrla and @daniellloyd1

Co-founded by three bereaved mothers, SUDC UK aims to help make Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood predictable and preventable by raising awareness and funding crucial research, and supporting families following such devastating loss.

Best wishes for a peaceful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
